Known Issues with Text on a Path Causing Crashes with Vector Basemaps and Text Utilities in Adobe Illustrator 28.1 and later (resolved in 28.6)

Currently, we are aware of an Adobe Illustrator bug causing crashes with the Vector Basemaps tool and Text Utilities tool in versions of Illustrator 28.1 and later. This will only impact users who import text layers with vector basemaps or who use text utilities with text on a path.

To avoid encountering these problems, we advise that users remain on Adobe Illustrator v28.0 until Adobe is able to release a fix. We will update this article once a fix is issued.

Please note, with the release of Adobe Illustrator 28.6 the issues with Text on a Path have been resolved. If you're experiencing the issue on your current version of Illustrator, please try updating to Version 28.6.
