The release of MAPublisher 11 officially has compatibility for Apple Silicon!
As part of this release, users will notice that there are two Mac installers available on our website, and when purchasing the software. One is for the standard Intel-based Macs, and the other is for the Apple Silicon Macs. Please see below for information on the two installers.
Apple Silicon Installer
This installer will work for Apple Silicon machines running macOS 12.x only. Those users who have macOS 11.x on an Apple Silicon Mac, will not be able to use this installer. Please note that while we have tested the beta version of macOS 13, we are not officially compatible with it at this time. When using this installer on an Intel-based Mac users will receive a prompt that they are using the wrong installer and will be directed to use the proper installer (Intel-based installer). If you are installing on a compatible Apple Silicon Mac that was previously using the Rosetta Emulation setting, you will be prompted to disable this setting in order to continue with the installation.
Intel Installer
This installer will work for Intel-based Macs running macOS 11.x and macOS 12.x. Please note that while we have tested the beta version of macOS13, we are not officially compatible with it at this time. If this version of the installer is used on an Apple Silicon Mac, it will install as normal, but if the Rosetta Emulation setting is not enabled, users will receive a compatibility message alerting them to this when opening Illustrator/MAPublisher. Users can then either install the appropriate Apple Silicon version of the installer or enable the Rosetta Emulation setting.
If you have any questions or problems finding which installer you need, or run into any problems during the installation process, please do not hesitate to reach out to us using the form in the upper right corner!
