Version 6.3 mosaic alpha channels gives unexpected result
Hello, I am using the mosaic tool to layer several 4-band images. Band 4 comes in to Photoshop, as expected, as an alpha channel. When I run the tool, the R, G, and B channels are correct for each layer, but the alpha channel shows only the top image pixels for each layer. During the mosaicking process, I can see the correct pixels being added in the channel palette, but when the process finishes, only the top image pixels remain in the alpha channel for each layer. This happens with or without "mosaic alpha layers" check box checked or unchecked. How do I get the correct data in my alpha channel, per layer, after mosaicking?

Hi Christopher,
Thank you for contacting Avenza Support.
I will investigate this further, in order to do so I will transfer this to an email and ask that you provide me with the Photoshop file you are working with along with your data. Please also confirm your Photoshop and GI versions!

It seems like the issue may be related to how the alpha channel is being managed during the mosaicking process. Since the correct pixels are visible during processing but only the top image's alpha remains afterward, it appears that the tool may be overwriting or not correctly blending the alpha channels from the different layers. You might want to try manually adjusting the alpha channels after the mosaic process finishes. This could involve copying the alpha channels into separate layers and blending them manually using Photoshop's layer masks or blend modes. Also, ensure that your 4-band images are in compatible formats and bit depths, as mismatches could cause issues with the mosaicking tool’s handling of the alpha data.
