How Do You Use Social Media Clips as Visual Reference for Mapping?

Hi everyone,

I often record short videos during fieldwork to document terrain details, landmarks, and environmental conditions for later reference in Avenza Maps. Sometimes I also save my own posted clips—using a simple instagram video download method—to keep them offline as part of my mapping notes.

I’m curious how other Avenza users manage this:

• Do you store field reference videos directly on your device?

• Use cloud folders for organizing visual notes?

• Keep them linked to specific map layers?

• Or prefer photos only instead of video references?

I’m looking for ideas to build a cleaner workflow for combining visual media with my map projects.
