MP feature requests from mtnmapper
Hi Avenza, thanks for creating this community discussion area. I have two MAPublisher feature requests.
1) The ability to copy and paste *only* attributes from one object to another. Perhaps you could implement this through a special keyboard command, used in conjunction with the AI Eyedropper Tool, to copy only attributes and not the appearance information. Also, having the option to copy all attribute columns or only selected columns would be icing on the cake. I could use this feature right now for taking the tedium out of creating the new Natural Earth database.
2) When importing data, MAPublisher automatically generalizes paths and polygons that exceed the 32k anchor point limit of Adobe Illustrator. This can result in inconsistent detail. For example, the continental coastline of Canada with 32,000 + points is generalized but PEI with fewer points is not. As an option to automatic generalization, MAPublisher could allow the importation of big objects at full resolution by breaking them into contiguous pieces with fewer than 32k points.

Hi Tom,
Thank you for contacting Avenza Support.
Your feature requests for MAPublisher that you have suggested have just been made for our QA and Development Teams to look into and work on.When it comes to the request of "breaking big objects into contiguous pieces with fewer than 32k points" this can already be done in MP's import simplification tools (please see image below).
Please note that when breaking areas into compound paths, we recommend not using a fill on those features as it will probably look strange as a result.
I have gone ahead and added you to the feature request so you will be notified when there is an update. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to let me know by reaching out via https://support.avenzamaps.com/hc/en-us/requests/new.
