Points and Text Export button
Overview
To export point and text vector data, choose a file format, export type options, and specify a filename and folder location. The Points and Text Export can export point data where it exists as “Counts” in the document as point or text. If text layers are exported as points, two attributes will be exported: the layer title as “Name” and the actual text as “Value”.
Formats
When exporting text layers and count objects as points, the following export formats are supported:
- AutoCAD Drawing/Exchange (DWG, DXF)
- Delimited XY Text Data (CSV)

- Esri Shapefile (SHP)
- GeoJSON (GEOJSON, JSON)
- Geopackage (GPKG)
- Google Earth (KML, KMZ)
- GPS Exchange Format (GPX)
- MapInfo Interchange Format (MIF)
- MapInfo Table (TAB)
- Microsoft Excel (XLS)
When exporting text layers as text, the following export formats are supported:

Export text layers as text is not supported in Adobe Photoshop CS6.
Export Settings
Optionally, text layers can be exported specifically as a text or point layer. Point layers have a position option to specify its anchor point (e.g. upper right). Text exported as point layers have text string and layer name stored as an attribute (if the format supports storing attributes). Text exported as text layers have its layer name stored as an attribute (if the format supports storing attributes). Count objects exported as points have its count group index stored as an attribute (if the format supports storing attributes).
When selecting the Esri Arcinfo Generate (GEN) option, users can also select "Export Coordinate System as PRJ", in order to export their image's Coordinate System as a separate .PRJ file.
Format Settings
Certain file formats have additional configuration parameters which will be shown in the Format settings section. These settings affect how Geographic Imager handles the data during export.
