These format import settings affect how MAPublisher and Adobe Illustrator handle the data during import.
AutoCAD Drawing/Exchange
| Group entities | Group entities by layer name or geometry. |
| Read hatches | Read the hatch pattern on import. |
| Read block references as points | Blocks are not expanded and read as points on import. |
| White lines/fills | •Import as is: import data true to the original colour settings contained in the file •Change white lines/fills to black: import black lines instead of the files native white lines |
Delimited XY Text Data
| Encoding | Choose an appropriate encoding (e.g. Unicode, 8 bit) |
| Format | Choose the appropriate format of the XY text data (e.g. Projected units, Decimal Degrees) |
| Coordinate Columns | These drop-down lists contain the names of all the numeric columns in the selected file. Choose the columns containing the coordinate information. Enable Use first line as a header if the first line of the text file contains column headings. |
| Specify Schema | Click the link to change the data schema type for attributes in the delimited text data set.

| Display Options | Choose a default symbol to be applied on import. |
Esri Interchange File
| Ignore TIC layer | Enable this to suppress the creation of _tic_point layer. Disable to create a layer holding the registration control points. |
FME Feature Store
| Password | If required, enter a password to unlock the FME file. |
Geography Markup Language
| Coordinate order | How MAPublisher interprets the order of X and Y coordinates. This may help when a third-party application exports coordinates in reverse order. Options: •Auto-detect [Default] •Read as XY •Read as YX |
Google Earth
| Allow random colour mode | Enable this option to generate random colour settings for the data. |
| Expand network links | Enable this option to use network-linked KML files. |
| Automatically apply Symbols when possible | This setting automatically applies symbols to map features during import. |
| KML Properties | Available options: •Import & visible: import KML properties and make them visible in the MAP Attributes table •Import & hidden: import KML properties and make them hidden in the attribute table •Not imported: do not import KML properties

Image
| Reference file | Click the reference file link to open the Edit Image Registration dialog box. |
| Image placement | Embed the image into the document or Link to it. Please see note about transparency. |
International Hydrographic Office
| Automatically apply Graphic Styles and Symbols when possible | Enable this setting to automatically apply graphic styles symbols to map features during import. |
MapInfo Interchange Format
| Automatically apply Graphic Styles when possible | This setting automatically applies graphic styles to map features during import. |
| MIF Properties | Available options: •Import & visible: import MIF properties and make them visible in the MAP Attributes table •Import & hidden: import MIF properties and make them hidden in the MAP Attributes table •Not imported: do not import MIF properties
